Intersection Tokyo Is the city happy?
It is often forgotten that 78 years ago, 24 million bombs were dropped on Tokyo and the city was reduced to ruins. It has made a remarkable recovery from that point. People, cars, time, light, and wind come and go around the intersections. Then again, the city (urban) always changes with time.
Recently, I began to realize that there are two sides to everything. Day and night, positive and negative, we cannot even see the other side of ourselves. Even the invisible things of good and evil can be said to be two sides of the same coin. Even in criminal dramas, there are two sides to a story, and sometimes the other side is the truth. If there are two sides to the reality in front of us, we wonder what is the other side of the events and the place we are in right now. Then I wonder if the other side of what I am living now is what happens after I die, which I cannot see. From my 55-year view of life and death, I think that the world of the soul after death is the front. There are many things about living on this earth that feel inconvenient and unequal. That being said, I would never encourage suicide.I believe that we should live in this fragile world and build a life in which we can have meaning and gratitude for what we do by living through it. You have to live positively, without remorse, until the end of your life span with the times you live in and the city you live in.
In photography, if you look at the image from the other side (reverse side) through a transmissive light, it becomes an inverted image. I have always believed that it is two sides of the same coin, and that life and death are likewise two sides of the same coin. The photographic panoramic city is a distortion, an illusion, different from reality, because it fits a three-dimensional space into a two-dimensional plane. I wonder if our souls also move back and forth between the front and back, perpetuating themselves in ambiguous memories. But the time and the city in which we are now gathered must be happy.
